Problems with Romantic Comedy Movie

By lippopotamus

“The way they depict love and relationship in many comedy-romantic movies are really revolting. First, here comes a girl who desperately seeks true love. She really adores the most popular guy who always ignores her. Then there’s the girl’s boyfriend, who becomes her shelter whenever things get down. The girl’s boyfriend happens to be cute, so in the end, the girl and her boyfriend hook up happily. In reality, boyfriends are never cute. That’s why they become regular boyfriends, not someone that we suddenly realize, ‘Oh, he’s pretty hot too’, right? If I have boyfriend who’s hot and always be my shelter, why bother having a crush to the most popular guy who turns out to be not as cool as the first impression eventually? That’s really ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, essentially.”
